| This superb pantomime with it's very moral and entertaining story requires a first class Dame Comedian who is able to change from the cosy traditional style to the sophisticated glamorous manner of Danny la Rue. This version also contains a second Dame part that can be played by a strong character comedienne. There are good parts for a light comic, a comedy fairy and a witch. The Principal Boy role of Jack is unusual and demands the use of hand puppets - the puppet and circus scenes being an outstanding feature of the show. There is also a strong mime part for Joey the Clown. The pantomime is excellent on unusual sequences, particularly the 'Shush Shush' Bird scene and the Puppet Finale. |
